Army’s 84IB Celebrates 12th Founding Anniversary in Nueva Ecija

    FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay), Philippine Army celebrates its 12th Founding Anniversary with a theme: VICTORIOUS @12 “Through The Years, 2009 Up to the Present of Service and Excellence” at its Headquarters at Camp MGen Gatan, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija on March 16, 2022.

    The activity highlights the recognition of all deserving personnel and civilian stakeholders who have actively taken part in the overall accomplishment of the unit’s mission and honors the contributions of former 84IB’s commanding officers who have taken pride in the successful realization of its goals and vision through their steadfast leadership.

    The Assistant Division Commander of 7th Infantry Division, Brigadier General Luis Rex D Bergante as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, was warmly received and accorded with Foyer Honors by the Victorious Troopers at Headquarters 84IB under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gil C Ileto, Commanding Officer.

    Before the day of celebration, the 84IB conducted pre-anniversary activities; Sportsfest, Victorious Fun Bike, Fun Shoot; Snipers Challenge; and Medical and Dental Consultation that aimed to develop camaraderie and unity among the victorious troopers, build strong partnerships with other agencies and civilian stakeholders, and giving back to the community by delivering basic services.

    Also, a holy mass was facilitated by the Victorious Troopers graced by His Excellency, Roberto C Mallari, D.D. Bishop of San Jose, Nueva Ecija.

    Among the awards given to all deserving personnel and civilian stakeholders during the program are 3 Military Merit Medals, 5 Plaques of Recognition for being the pioneer personnel of the unit, and adjudged as Best Enlisted Personnel CY 2022, and 14 Plaques of Appreciation.

    On his anniversary message, LTC Ileto stressed that the anniversary celebration is a way of looking back at the unit’s history, roots, and strong foundation that would guide every victorious trooper’s on its journey towards excellence and to honor significant contributions of all former commanders of the unit.

    “Sa pagtanaw na ito sa ating kasaysayan meron tayong pinagkaisang kaalaman, kwento ng ating pinanggalingan, kwento ng kung sino ba tayo ngayon, mga kwento na magsasabi sa atin ng kung saan ba tayo tutungo sa mga susunod na panahon”, LTC Ileto said.

    Meanwhile, in his part, BGen Bergante said that the 84th infantry battalion have proven their commitment in serving the people in its Area of Operations as they have displayed numerous commendable accomplishments in line with the government’s campaign in ending the local communist armed conflict.

    Also, he commended the 84IB Battalion Commander, LTC Enrico Gil Ileto, for doing a splendid job of lifting the morale of the troops, for driving the battalion to accomplish its mission, and at the same time ensuring that the communities under its area of operations are not only protected but are taken cared of as well.
