Students Warn against CTG-Infiltration in School; Army’s 91IB Intensifies Information Awareness Drive in Aurora

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija -- In a bid to strengthen the campaign of the Army to stop the deceptive recruitment of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) among the youth sector in schools, the troops of the 91st Infantry (SINAGTALA) Battalion, Philippine Army led by Lieutenant Colonel Reandrew P Rubio, Commanding Officer, conducted an Information Awareness Drive on CTG’s infiltration in Barangay Florida, Maria Aurora, Aurora on March 12, 2022.
According to Major General Andrew D Costelo PA, Commander of the 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army, said initiative of the Army is in line with the campaign and programs under Executive Order No. 70.
“It is our duty to protect the students against the deceptive scheme of the CTG. That is why this information drive aims to make them aware how the enemy infiltrates the schools and recruit students to join the terrorist organization. Marami nang namatay na studyante na ni recruit ng teroristang grupo at ayaw na ayaw natin na mangyari pa ito muli. We will be relentless in our campaign upang matigil na ito,” said MGen Costelo.
The activity was participated by 58 students from Lyceum of the East-Aurora (LEA) wherein Civil-Military Operations Officer Captain Candidato Paduman conducted lectures on CTGs to Youth/Student Sector and a film viewing.
Meanwhile, LTC Rubio lauded the efforts of the LEA administration under the leadership of its chief executive officer, Engineer Jaime S. Gose for inviting his unit to the said activity.
He emphasized that continuous conduct of information drives and dialogue to the youth and different sectors are a vital part of the implementation of the provincial task force to end the local communist armed conflict (PTF ELCAC).
“This is a good venue for educating our youth and making them aware of the lies and deception of the CTG. We will intensify this activity as part of the situational awareness program and counter the propaganda efforts of the CTGs,” LTC Rubio said.
