Firearms Recovered in Abra

    FORT MAGSAYSAY, NUEVA ECIJA – A firearm and ammunitions were recovered by troops of the 24th Infantry Battalion and 81st Infantry Battalion, 7ID, PA at So Baclingayan, Barangay Tabacda, Tubo, Abra last October 15, 2018.

    The weapons recovered were an M14 rifle and two M14 magazines with 20 live ammunitions.

    Antonio Tabling @Andy, a former rebel, issued the firearm to Baco Olosan, a member of Milisyang Bayan (MB) in Brgy. Tabacda, Tubo, Abra, back in 2011. Tabling surrendered to the 81IB last July 3, 2018 and is currently under the custody of the Ilocos Sur Provincial Jail on account of his criminal cases. Prior to this recent recovery, several firearms and ammunitions were already turned-over to the 81IB on September 22 of this year, by his father.

    Major General Felimon T. Santos, Jr., Commander of 7ID, lauded the troops’ efforts in recovering all of Tabling’s issued firearms and ammunitions. He likewise expressed his appreciation of Tabling’s cooperation with the government forces and reiterated his call to other rebels lay down their arms and have the chance to start anew and live a peaceful life.
